my lately tin cup embossing addiction is not even cooled down i'm already messing up with paper circles...many of them already around all over the house...a new addiction? is it going to last? i have no idea if it will be a bloom i will see it in spring lol.
about 4 years ago i was tempted to make a paper basket and i managed to do the bottom of it then get bored and left in a box until now when i was already sure i will never get to make that basket so was thinking to upcycle the recycled and unfinished basket part.this way the paper sticks were swirled together and my little one was very happy playing with the 40 different size newborn paper snails.
later i searched the net to see similar examples and some of the seen swirls made me paying more attention to the snails quality.then i found out that their "perfectness" is due to the store bought quilling paper and i cooled down a bit but still trying to make my best by recycling some magazine pages.
i'm still improving the coiling steps that i want to show you hopefully sometimes.i was already told to make a few coiled jewelry so i'm sticking with the snails a bit right now...

there are many things you could use the bounded swirls-i saw coiled bowls,plates,wall art,hot-matt(very practical i was thinking of that!),new banner (lol)etc...

besides the owl some paper fishes made them way to surf the web...
they are already in their new home and i'm happy they are so welcomed and loved!
this gift was made in three days i must confess that the microwave was a real help to accomplish the "task".
now i will spoil you with a lot of before and after pictures...fishes are the symbol of Christianity and stand for a plentiful prosper new year.we eat fish or pork in new years eve not a dram of chicken as they say chicken burrows in the past lol...

they were meant to be a hanged colorful catching decoration for a little baby....hopefully the forms and colors will catch her attention and make her leave mommy alone for a while lol...

i was inspired to make some houses thanks to Rodica and Fishstikks.check their adorable little houses...i just couldn't help myself.

while the pin roses are still waiting for their pins,lol i'm just coloring the pile of gray bits i made long enough to forget what they were meant to be...well,some of them already has a new look like these two earrings

Paper Mache Rose Pins

and other bits...made of homemade paper pulp...
if you were thinking what's cooking on my kitchen then you can see now my" cooled" preparations on table.
i'm not a magnifique paper cook but i love what i do when i can do it.lately considered a luxury.

though they are only bits i did not made them in a few days...it all started in early June!! when my mother asked me to make some roses.a very good friend of mine was also interested buying some rosy stuffs so i made a few attempts followed by other as everybody were pleased.
now they only need pins and ready to go!
the little mousie will however stay because is my little ones favorite toy for the moment :)

when ready i searched the net to find some similar stuffs but i only could see roses made of creppe paper and layered ones not pulp.glad i've managed to do some.it was not very easy to shape them.if by chance you've already seen paper pulp roses i would be very interested to let me know.

woodland creatures

these are three little mushroom creatures i made a while ago from paper pulp and glue.i never sculpted at this scale but i had to give it a try as it usually remains a little unconsumed pulp .so instead of beads i made them.
the mammy is just a few inches bigger then the beads i use to make.though she looks grumpy she is not mad.she is more wearing the mark of ages on her face in her waiting for her beloved ones to come home.i often see mammies like her in windows and ports wearing dark cloths and kerchiefs as we're passing away and following our way.

Mr. Galoca is a well know poisoning mushroom but sooo sweet.remind though that you have to resist him ;)
obviously he couldn't resist either to a little sweet summer treat...believe me ice cream was hard to obtain in the woods but he got some good friends out there.who would not like friends like his? ...hello friends ,so nice to know you here!

Green man is very bored....nothing can drag him out of his state.he knows the whole woodland ,the singing birds,passing critters the moon fazes,the season of raspberries and blueberries riping still nothing can awaken his interest. ..he wasn't excited either of that big red parfumed rose behind...huhhhhhhhhhh is all that i hear...i'm getting bored...

finished mirror

now i'm showing you the final steps of my first commissioned mirror.

first image-i opted for patterns on abstract painting.but i was not at all convinced by the developing result.
it was to dark and those three little prominences necessitated to be cut down as they were standing in my painting way ;)
i always like gesso-ing first the work area as colors are shown better on white.

second picture-just took the colors and put on the mirror having no particular thing in my mind as it shows...
then protected the color shapes with black outline which wasn't to my sons taste.he said-"now it's ugly with that black".

the crazy pattern work begun with the hearts shown on this image and ended -don't recall where- many many hours after....
i don't know how happens but i have no picture with the finished mirror only on my flickr.

loosing a dear friend it makes it even harder.i'm talking about my best papier mache friend who made me dive in this fantastic world of creation,who made me learn many about blogging at the moment when i had no idea what a follower was.not mentioning how rare is to find or to be found by somebody who really loves your work and who's work is inspirational and teaches you a lot.fortunately he left behind a precious legacy as he was sharing so generously his knowledge and i hope his videos,tutorials will always be there to help those "troubled" with the paper.

finally some paper mache

my latest works in progress...a paper mache mirror commissioned work and some paper beads.i fancy them thanks to embracing tao so it was a must do :)

MImirrorRROR--- first i pasted the plastic edges of the mirror using masking tape and just put on a cardboard-no glue as i wanted to remove it later-then added my kind of teared pulp(teared newspaper and flour-water-salt mixture)-then i let it dry for two days.

later added some more of this kind of pulp and waited another two days to dry thoroughly.

the second image shows the dried pulp and already removed(after drying of course) cardboard back.

image three-the backside with the naked plastic mirror

and four- the same kind of pulp mixture covering entirely the mirror plus a buried hanger.

at this faze i added a better pulp(teared newspaper,soaked in water for a night,then mixed a bit with the blender-the binder agent was made of a mixture of water,flour and fluid pva glue after my eye)picture nr 5 shows the dried pulp featuring some little ornaments...

picture 6-the mirror hand sanded-just a bit-that's it for now...

the remained pulp was instant made into some chunky beads...

and some long forgotten rolled beads...not finished yet...

the painting has nothing to do with paper mache but it is responsable for the delays regarding the pm works

they really are...what a wonderful Christmas we had and the following days...
i even had time to make a little box for three of the "leaving"snowmens.three of them remain at home as my son wanted,they looks just great on the xmas tree and three of them be soon on it's way to Timisoara.

the box,not quite for snowmens (it looks too hot i know) but this is how it came out.i tryed something else first but i messed up the painting ...so then i just freed my mind and let it come whatever it has too.below you can see what i recycled...

here i'm working on a new bowl using the same type pulp as seen on the mirror but this time" the rush " partially ruined the bowl. though i knew the time i was making it that it is risking i was curious to see how long thin strips are working.i pressed them well into the form but was greedy and added to much at a time.the result...you know...the inside is perfect,no problem with the edges but the exterior (see the pencil marked areas) has to be rebuild.it it soft because of the cavitys.i added a few strips of brown paper over the week parts (like a lazy gal hiding the garbage under the carpet )but didn't solved the problem so i better remake that....

old doodle-new object

hi friends!

i can't remember when i made this tiny little doodle on my notebook but i can tell you that i begined to work on it early in the summer.
i cuted out an aproximate circle form (50 cm diameter) of cardboard,glued a "naked"mirror on than added the pulp all around the it .as you can see i did not used a blender for the pulp.it is only striped paper,flour paste and water.i coated the cardbord with diluted pva as i learnt from Jonty than added the strange pulp and left it to dry flat.
for some reason this summer were a nasty one,we have not seen to much the sun but rain.the mirror dried very slowly and even began to mould.so when somehow dried i put it aside for better days...and they have come.the radiators are going well and the stuffs are drying much quicklier.

what i have done now was another layer of the same type pulp and wait to drie.than i sanded it a little bit with hands and my husband helped with the sanpaper attached drilling machine.it doesn't came out as smooth as i wanted but i knew that the painting will full the eye.of course this made harder the painting job.

it will be a Christmas gift and i'm very happy that i could finish it in time.i may still add a star or a little bird here there but i'm not stressed...i used for the first time acrylics insted of fluid pigments and i was so happy that the headaches caused by smudging dissapeared.
i also learned that using acrylics the work can be called done sealer is not that important like before.of course i am thinking of sealing it,shinny varnish or not doesn't matters in this case....

she is gessoed ,now it comes my favorite part-the painting !!!

and there she is........my first doll................

yesterday i finished her...
well this is how our traditional suit looks a bit stylized though(the dress in original is longer and not so round.the models on dress and vest are different depending on the aera from which they comes-anyway the red color and wolf teeths on the vests are omnipresent,while the apron is not ) the tenis shoes are my contribution lol,they usually wear long black boots or lacquer shoes but i couldn't resist....
i don't know how to make the final touch-varnish it or just coat it with a diluted pva glue...i would go for the varnish but all my varnishes shines too much.
...........i love the way she hangs,hehe...............

i'm back

this new impuls to restart mache-ing happened about 10 day ago when my husband wanted to throw away a bag full of fax paper.quickly made 5 circles having in mind christmas .the ornaments are still not ready BUT at least i scoured all my "treasure"boxes and even started a few new things like my very fist paper doll.my hand are again soaked in flour paste and it feels sooo good.my residence has not changed,the kitchen,lol and i use the same flour to cook,the same big working table and everybody is happy :).yes,winter is good for paper mache...
so here i'm showing you a few shots of the doll which slowly takes shape and i can't wait for the painting part.hopefully soon it will be ready...

the cup was the original idea but as you can see some legs has increased inside
and changed the direction...

the legs were removed and reshaped...

she even got a handkerchief and ribbon...

now,almost ready,i hope in a day or two she will shine in her traditional suit i also worn as a child...

recently finished old cup

while still recovering form a bad could witch ended up with a nice pneumonia i "finally"

managed to finish and old wip(well still got to varnish it,but i already call it finished...i can't wait).

pour thing had its leg broken and it had a few more weak points but i did not rushed
and resolved them slowly as time and mood let me...

i don't have "how to build "pictures but i tell you i made it over the same type of milk jug i use for this kind of cups (called "MILLI"milk) using both methods -strips and pulp-and i love that shape that can easily become something else for ex.a princess dress if turned upside down lol...

when i reached the painting part i thought i may use one of my pattern sketches over it (see the blue paint version) but it was not only v difficult but also not v effective so i let it go and made something" lighter" using paper coils (not a bit of clay i swear! that medium is making me with the eye from a long time but i'm a stubborn head and have this silly ambition of "pure"paper...well at least regarding this cup lol).
i made the coils with the same method i wrote about a few posts ago..

this is the final product,i don't know what's coming

next i could make a nice mosaic of unfinished stuffs waiting in different places...

plasticine and mold

i made the plasticine faces about a month ago as i could not focus on anything larger or time consuming but some little oil clay sculptings.it was fun making them and i just loved the way they fitted the situations when everything were (and it is) much important than relaxing through creation.

oil clay is generous.not only with kids ...i could always restart,drop it,restart and so on.the sharp silicon ended sculpt tool i bought half year ago for making paint dots (hehe) were exactly what i needed though i had no idea at the time that actually that is a wide used tool for sculpting in any kind of clays.

the brown face is already smashed or should i say generously turned out but the rest is still what they were a month ago...i mean nothing but faced bits of clay.

as you can see the following two pieces were luckily casted i just have to dare to compact a little paper pulp into ....or better to paste some strips as the mold came out a little bit deep.i would like to keep the mold if possible.
the basic idea would be making a few finger puppets and/or frig magnets so i'm really curious how they'll turn out.it must be a way out isn't it?

just a short post of last days acquisition.a very much expected tool since a red about it's usefulness long time enough to think this could resolve the gluing problems i met along the way.my husband helped me choosing the best type regarding his experiences and i must say i'm way too happy my fingers won't stick any more to my unfinished wips.you know...

so here is the first thing i glued with it...a paper clay ornament to my next paper bracelet.

coming next my very OLD birdies leg.....

carnival costume

we found out quite late about my sons kindergarten carnival and also took a week to realise that it is much closer then we think while we were wondering what kind of personage he may like to be.

i started a mask while ago (you know the build up part with children use oil clay over a plastic batman mask lol which i found in a chineze shop-or better said a shop full with chineze stuffs-and sadly this is a tendency around here shops overloaded with cheap chineze materials,toys,cloth available to the large mass of tight belt population in crisis) and i thought to work out a wizard or witch mask until we decide what his costume is going to be.

we asked him what he wants to be and he sad calmly that a rocket would do it.my husband liked the idea v much and thought it was not to difficult making it already having the a lot of needed materials plus my mache experience of glue making,stripping,paper etc...lol

i was anxious because time was slipping through our finger still not a step made . i was ringing silent bells that we should start it because drying is a time consuming thing.

finally we faced the fact of having 4 and half days for making the rocket costume.

the costumes armature weren't the best actually was v weak (i told him lol) and i made only two paper layers over the cardboard(soft one) which warped as i thought at the first coat of acrylic wall paint.anyway we continued and done it after all.even if it's having its weaknesses here and there made his job successfully.our son collected a lot of wows when he entered the room.he was very proud of his original costume and even if it's stiffness prevented him to be too quick (as he usually is lol) our efforts were well paid by his contented smile.

my creation line is still beeping well not with a "normal" pulse but it's still alive lol...

there's been more than a month from my last post though i would have had a few stories to tell...

a sad news kept me away from my artistic activities and made me focus more on the family line..not that i'm "away" too far from it in my every days.a ray of hope was all i needed than and it came.i hope it stays that way!

meanwhile i had a pleasant surprise by being the favoured winner of a recycled jewellery contest on flickr which ended up looong time ago.i entered the contest with one of my paper bracelet made of empty masking tape inner and recycled newspaper pulp.

the contest organizer is a young open minded guy who lives in Hungary and has his very unique and original line of jewellery,belts, dog leads made of bike tires,valves of tires and inner tubes.

his wearable art runs under the slogan "once a bike-always a work of art" as i saw it in guardian.co.uk .he has a new site you may take a look...http://1mind1.com or access his flickr account via http://www.flickr.com/photos/mind1/ .

these are the earrings that i won and i'm happily wearing them! thank you again Denes!!! you've made my day in that cold february day.

study on coils

it was in my mind to try coiling some paper while ago and now the moment become actual.i found many artist using coils to decorate their stuffs mostly the edges of their works and i could have been able to show a link to them if i wouldn't be so skilled to erase my favorite paper artists link while ago when i added another item.now i have to find them again and it will be not be easy.i'm not very sure if they used just the paper and flour mixture i usually do or if it was the so called fast mache or better said paper clay.i never worked with paper clay but i found out that it is a mixture which allows you to sculpt very fine details .coil is a detail i was willing to know more about.i remember very vague a sheep maybe sawn on etsy with a superb coiled fur.
i sad i should give it a try using my knowledge about corn shuck coils. this is a tradition in my grandmothers village where almost everybody makes objects from it .the coils are all the time needed and put over a wooden frame and some nails.the wide shuck end is cut because it is too rough then soaked in water for a minute or so and kept wet while working with them.i was doing it also with pleasure when i was a child and spent my vacations at my grandparents.of course the shucks advantage is that it won't tear apart like paper does if too wet or too soft.
the coils i made are recycled gifts paper but it will work well with shiny magazine pages too.i tried to imitate the shuck coils which with a little practice of course came uniform and round and thanks to their V shapes makes easy the continuity.that will be another study later on hehe.what i found important here is that after i twisted the paper i covered it with narrow strips of toilet paper,kind of v rough.we can still find it some place.it looks v much like crepe paper lol.i just put it over the coils dry they will soak enough humidity when it came twisted again.that would smooth out the coils and gives the look i want. hope it is understandable.a video would be word saving and easier to understand but no time for that.

what i did here was to recycle about 8 egg holder,actually the upper side ,the lid of the egg holder.i soaked in hot water for about 2 hours then teared it and pasted over a balloon with flour paste.this is what i call fast mache,you don't have to deal with the pulp.it is already ready.two layers of this "pulp"is enough for a bowl project specially if it cames hardened with the dragon skin. the coils came as an ornament i dreamed one morning lol but if you could take a look outside our window you would see the same pattern made from iron lol.i just figured out this yesterday.but inspiration come from many places....though mostly form the kitchen lol.i take a lot of shots while cooking not artistic photos but of anything that grabs my attention.like an onion for ex.my next painting idea lol.i must see to can paint.
enough for words huh,here some pictures

i used for the first time modeling paste.i asked for white acrylic ink and received this.my husband sad it is better this than nothing.lol.it is a lightweight paste which covered very well the wholes between the coils and body of the bowl but a bit expensive as art supplies are usually.ehe

this is the final result and i got some very good advices to enhance the texture from Magdalena and Marilyn my flickr friends.thank you!i will sure try both methods!
Magda " I would slightly enhance the texture: dip a sponge in diluted black/dark blue acrylics and just touch the outer texture. It will give it more dimension. If you make it too dark - you can just wash it out by rubbing with damp sponge/cloth :) "
Marilyn "If you'd like to "enhance the texture", as studiomurano suggested, maybe you could rub a soft lead pencil onto paper, then get some of the lead onto your fingertips and rub it onto the high spots of your bowl. You could also use pastels or conte, maybe charcoal or even soot from a stove; anything that gives you the look you want. "

the latest three little bowls.. cannot call experiment..better a study of textures... this one following the orange-brown bracelets texture in a lighter hue.same procedure showed below -see first

i will change the pictures as soon as i find them for a better view...for now i borrowed them from my flickr.

yes.you guessed.i used my husbands wood burner and i liked the bubbled texture a lot.
made from a very rough pulp-i call it one minute pulp-dragon skin-then pure pva burned at once i did not wait to dry... those tiny little bubbles were then painted with acrylics and are not sealed yet.(they are all over in the inside of the bowl and just portions on its outside)

the third following the bubbles line...i may change it...this is for now

little bowl experiments-NUMBER 1

hi,here again!

i've started a new bowl and got stuck(the same grammatical problem as below) guess where-of course while painting!i liked the first coat of paint but an idea jumped(has jumped have jumped or simple jumped -i never know-choose the right one...ugh) in my mind and made me quit any movements.i was afraid not to spoil the surface ....so then i've decided to make a mini bowl series to experiment.while the big bowl waits his paint couts a little one is already finished.not following the big ones idea.that's an old (lol)idea.i'll present my little bowls birth cutting out the very first images hehe-they are not needed.

this is the first image-molded over a plastic milk bottle(i can't find the right word).at this stage the rough pulp is still wet.the new idea was to dusk some well dried pulp pieces into for a new look.also learning on this new texture.

when fully dried(a few pieces had to be glued again though)it was covered in dragon skin.

lefted 24 hours to dry then applied a thin layer of acrylic wall paint ..

yes, i failed the painting part i had to change it -not immediately of course -the family needed me lol-

that's its size and new look not varnished yet....

i like the inside paint...somehow the outside one shouldbe nicer if smoother..i've realized though it's a nice texture it is hard to work with.it may be the size of a bowl.i'm sure it will be easier on a big one.

like it or not this is the FINAL result so far-it still needs to be sealed but for this one i wish i would have a perfect mat varnish.still not found.

holiday bracelets

a short message from heart.i'm no good at speeches maybe i should post a poem instead;)--i've been here only for looking around had no time posting.while i've finished the bracelets series.all four are ready and i wanted to share my little achievements.i've already posted them at flickr's that goes quicky and i had very good feedback which made me happy.

this is the second one called "dio" it's not from adio it just means nuts in hungarian.it has this nut like raw surface painted with orange than" washed"with liquid brown pigment.
so i f you like it don't throw away your mask tape roles when finished they are suitable for bracelets(well it depends on your hands and arm size too but they were designed for use over a body lol-it's sound odd ).at the end it was varnished.i've used mat floor varnish -

this is that came after the second the fourth i guess as i'm loosing myself in such of details.it remembers me a joke i've heard yesterday "while to blame the parliament ?he did nothing"-
i should mention that right now they are counting our votes for the new presidential elections.i hope they are not counting like me...
this bracelet follows the earlier "concept"lol-used masking type cutted half,added two layers of paper than added the modeled rough pulp which was then temperate with the dragon skin,painted and varnished.
the last one-i little bit different but we all are a bit like.so this is my fun bracelet entirely pulp the rest you've already know...
there's no group photo but it will be lol

...it seems i cannot hold my promises to long.i was determined to finish my old projects and make nothing new during but something happens all the time and newbies are born.(like the bracelet)

i like the pattern on this cup only that i wanted to age it a little bit and thought i now how i was rushing to the "finale"and sealed it with mat floor varnish so i will not change its look .i still have to make its sole and move on with the other staffs.

this is a bracelet finished a few days before.three more to come.it's made of rough pulp then covered with "dragon skin"painted, sanded ,varnished.i like its "bone "look.maybe the next bowl will follow the idea.

three days ago i tried Jonty's dragon skin!i was very tempted from the moment i saw his video on youtube (you'll find the video on his site by clicking on his name) and time has come to try it!
it's a hit i tell you!i was very happy with the result but first i had to convert the ounce(oz) measurement unit in grams because we don't use ounce at all only ml or grams.i've found in the dictionary that 1 oz=28,349 gram so i've converted his magical recipe and.... surprise...the composition came out much more thick than on the video although i followed carefully the instructions .here comes the importance of videos so i take this moment for my special thanksgiving of your your efforts Jonty for spreading your knowledge and experience around the world .
i suppose the pva glue we are using around here is different in its constitution and thats why i had to add more water to the mass until it seemed to me it's alike the mixture seen in the video.of course i was worried about thinking of what the excess of water may cause but i gave it a try.
i was very happy with the result which cracks only if it's applied thicker than 2 mm.
and as an observation-i tried the mixture over gray pulp,white paper and cloth and the colors that i'm using after drying pops out much better on white paper and cloth than the pulp.for the pulp section i've added a coat of white household acrylic paint that helped.

here you can see a few of my staffs i'm working on...
first layer of dragon skin applied over unfinished pumpkin-although i've started it in July it's still in experiment stage lol

second layer- becomes smoother and covers little "mistakes"

now i just have to make pulp to finish the rest of the pumpkin..

my son have "ordered" a zeppelin-he is NOW in love with balloons so i have to make one.it looks rather a bomb now but i go forward

yesterday my baby had a good day,no cramps juhhuu so i could push to the finish my vic (very important chicken ;)).i'll still make a few little changes perhaps(repaint the nails for ex.)and maybe add a curly line as its hear... i'll see than seal with a couple of mat floor varnish coats.i did not
mixed the colors with pva glue because i run out of it so i'm i little nervous about the hue after applying the varnish.anyway it's painted and i'm almost happy with it!..........

it seems that i'm living my second childhood regarding the painting part of my works.hehe.
not that i've lost but never had "art classes" in kindergarten for example.my memories related to school are very pale too...i'm trying to ensnare my boy in painting fun messy activities but i was told that painting is for girls he is into carriers,F16 th and other "male" activities with his father now...

this bowl-urn is the first thing finished after a long period of silence.
the colors went dark when sealing -- i face this problem often--somehow i liked
it better before but i can't change it anymore so i have to get used with it's looking or make another one :)...

it seems i'm not contented with the thing i make --i like the shapes i make but i get stocked on paintings,same problem--but maybe this is that pulse that makes me wanting to exceed myself..
the creating urge is like an itch growing day by day ... i meet a lot of talented people on the net
so i have a waste learning opportunity and inspiration source.

i'm working on bowls.mostly experiencing and because i'm not contented with the final
result i change colors often.i'm still hanging on this first bowls feet as you can see below..even if the idea it was to be raw and to keep undefended the yellow foots i play with colors until I'll find them enough acceptable.this little problems keep me in holding...my good english gives me also headaches ....

and below the whole bowl from the beginnig then the little changes that has occur and still not finished...i think the first step next will be to change inside color than maybe add some buttons or a pattern to the body and than i'll see...even if i wanted those yellow foots from the start i want to sweeten its rawness a bit.

as an idea of body pattern i've tried this

au trecut 4 luni de cind n-am mai lucrat cu hartia.sarbatorile de iarna au sters
ultimele picaturi de vopsea de pe micuta masa de lucru si s-a asternut peste ea
praful.odata asezate frumos toate lucrurile in cutii,parca si cheful s-a incuiat cu
ele in intunecimea dulapului.asta pina acum cind iarasi e primavara(cei drept de
2 zile--alaltaieri parca mai ningea) si odata cu ea am devastat din nou micuta
masa cu "orori" pt cei cu mania curateniei.m-am mai imbogatit cu citeva
pensule fitoase si acest moment am trei mici proiecte la care lucrezi.
e vorba de 3 boluri decorative.unul e aproape gata,aici e si poza,arata cam ciudat
cu picioruse galbene dar asa am vrut.nu cred ca voi schimba culoarea in schimb voi
face citeva mici ajustari la culoarea inetriorului si al marginii.mi se pare prea"abrupta"....peste va veni un strat doua de lac,caut lac mat,dar
deocamdata fara succes.asa ca s-ar putea sa straluceasca la sfarsit.

i've surprised myself.i thought i will bore you with my beads again but instead i've just finished something my sun has begun.of course he get bored quickly after a few sticked paper on a balloon and especially when he noticed his hands stuffed with paste glue mess he run away rapidly to wash them so i remained to finish "the dog" as we supposed it to be but when dried i cut it for fun and so were formed the cups bowl.the rest was easy but i've get stuffed again at the painting part.finally i made something acceptable as you see and i'm somehow contented about the result.they are waiting for the final seal and the big cup will have some extra buttons.
i can't deny that i was inspired from at least two papier mache artists i've found recently.they are great and i loved their kettles -it was in my mind to try one but i didn't expected to be so soon-

because the big birds right leg has broken again and it seems just paper won't fix it or i have to remake the whole leg -arrrrrgh-i continued to make beads.they are so tiny and i can see them finished in two days.more to come...

i've decided to quit for a while with this bead mania...i have a lot of unfinished staffs i'm bored to look at as they stare at me from every corner of our room leaved months even one year ago...i guess i'm the type of person who can hardly finish a job and always dive in something new...
but how can i quit beads when i always run out of pulp or have to wait broken legs,wings or remodelling shapes ,staffs to dry i'm not contented with?see how decided i am?
the good thing is that i do everything i'm making with love so it's a pleasant time to spend. i also pay to much time according to my family digging up other people's amazing creatures,paintings,techniques.this are other "everyday news" i need...at least 30 minutes.

bracelets and necklace

i 've made recently two bracelets.i like them but i know i have to improve my rolling technic. this ones are made of paper painted or better scratched by me while painting paper beads as i used on them dried brush and had to wipe of the surplus of paint.then i liked the color combination so i cut it and rolled in beads as you see.
the red bracelet didn't turned on as i wanted because the vivid red and contrasting black were hidden in the middle of the rolled paper so i remained with their washy ends.next time i will be careful.

the rest of the shots are made for fun.i was playing with this colored bead army and believe me they followed my orders duteously.

it seems this fever doesn't cools up just with cold water...anyway it's better than watching tv.it relaxes me and fills up the time when i run out of paper paste or wait for staffs drying .i've moved up with tiny steps on my bird and a new screaming chicken.

ieri seara am dat de un blog-,nu-mi mai aduc aminte de numele tipei-dar am s-o caut din nou ,care a reusit sa se foloseasca de bine cunoscuta tehnica de impletire a cosurilor folosind in loc de paie si panus de cucuruz ,hartie.
incerc sa postez citeva poze cu metoda folosita de mine.n-am reusit asa cum am vrut,inca nu stapinesc tehnica(cu toate ca din panus as putea face aproape orice se gaseste in comert-dar trebuie sa recunosc ca m-a ajutat experienta panusa)dar am sa mai incerc....
a fost amuzant oricum si cel putin n-am mai stat in fata compului ci in sinul familiei,indemnindu-l si pe cel mic sa incerce,fara reusita cei drept ,dar m-a ajutat la taierea hartiei pt viitoarea pasta de hartie.cea veche am aruncat-o pt ca s-a invechit si mucezit.atunci am pus la inmuiat cofraje de ou,iar acum atit cosul cit si pasta pe care o pregatesc este in intregime din paginile aurii.sint si eu curioasa sa aflu ce calitate va avea pasta si daca va stralucii,he he

mai intai am rulat fasii cam de 7 cm (lungi cit o pagina din cartea de telefon) cu ajutorul unei scobitori,iar la impletire am completat sirul imbinind 2 din aceste "betigase"de hartie...

am gasit site-ul ,la derularea paginii il gasiti la "visited blogs"-este prima pe lista...
imi place f mult ceea ce a realizat si cu cit ma uit mai mult imi dau seama ca trebuia sa utilizeze si sirma in compozitie.sarma se poate deghiza f bine cu hartie si confera stabilitate oricarei structuri .din pacate n-a raspuns tipesa la intrebarile legate de anumite amanunte de "fabricatie"asa ca va trebui sa-l descoperim noi.

it's not finished,(i know i 've made painting mistakes-not contented with that)i want to add eyes and maybe some hear here and there but not sure about the material for that.i read about a polypropylene twine at stolloween's site but nobody knows around here after its name.i know it's made of plastic and i will search again.
i would appreciate v much if you would have any suggestions about the materials witch could compose his hair.
and if i talk about masks i suggest you to take a tour at creaturiste's site-he is one of the best mask maker i know,so you won't regret!

de la bun inceput trebuie sa marturisesc ca tot ceea ce am invatat despre tehnica
"papier mache"(hartie mestecata) ( pt ca sint si eu o incepatoare )se datoreaza sitului

aici am citit despre procedeul pastei de hartie ,despre lipicurile care se
folosesc,deasemena vopsele si lacuri cu care se finiseaza micile sau marile proiecte.
sint multe de spus si invat si eu pe parcurs.
hartia mestecata" sau altfel "pasta de hartie" se obtine in felul urmator:

-aduni hartiile din casa(cele mai bune sint hartiile fara luciu,gen "actualiatea
muresana","nepujsag" etc.revistele gen ciao ,star,pliantele de la banca,orange le pastrezi
pt o alta tehnica,cea praticata de natasa de expemplu.)

-daca ai copii urmeaza o parte f placuta-acea a ruperii hartiei in bucati si aruncarea
ei(optionala)spre tavan,procedeu care se perpetuiaza pina la umplerea camerei cu
bucati"cotidiene" ,desigur cu sonorizare- acompaniament cu urlete de bucurie si hohote de
ras.
-daca ai si un sot de treaba sau musafiri nepofiti te pot ajuta la adunarea bucatilor de
hartie cu mare placere

-hartia adunata intr-un vas este umpluta de apa si lasata cam o zi doua la inmuiere

-unii fierb hartia(dupa inmuiere) intr-o cucta veche cam 30 min.ca sa se mai piarda din elasticitatea fibrelor de hartie.

-dupa fiert si racit se arunca apa de pe hartie si urmeaza cea mai nasoala faza,aceea a ruperii hartiei in bucatele ff mici sau daca ai un mixer "beton"--atenite sa nu arzi motorul,mai ales daca-s neplatite ratele!--pui cam o palma de hartie cu apa din belsug,adica robinet.le mixezi bine pina ce obtii o pasta moale.folosesti o sita pt scurgerea apei,dupa care il storci cu mina cit poti de bine.asta e pasta .

acum urmeaza sa-l depozitezi intr-un loc racoros ,inchis ermetic intr-un recipient de plastic si sa-l amesteci cu un pic de aracet,apara contra mucezirii daca-l vei folosi la o alta data.dar zambeste pasta e gata,urmeaza ketcup-ul,adica lipicul.

pasta obtinuta il poti amesteca cu aracet sau cu home made lipici de casa din faina si apa.
dupa ce amesteci bine pasta cu lipiciul o poti modela dupa cum o doresti-bila,triunghi,oval si alte forme geometrice invatate.

le usuci -cel mai bine la soare sau pe calorifer(unii folosesc si cuptorul cam 20 min.-eu n-am incercat).

dupa ce s-au uscat le vopsesti cu o baza acrilica alba-ex.innenweiss 0,75 l,vopsea lavabila pt interior si papier mache si cumperi pigmenti colorati cam 3 lei bucata pe care le amesteci tot cu baza acrilica pt a obtine diferite nuante.de aici incolo te joci cu culorile.

despre texturi alta data,am obosit si simt miros de mici.am fugit.

PS- astept cu nerabdare realizarile voastre,daca mai aveti intrebari va raspund cu placere!

It's so much fun "playing" with paper.I never tried the "classical" rolling method for creating beads but I've found a great tutorial by natasha and the idea about dipping the beads in resin I love the best.Try out your hand and let your imagination fly (away from it).
I make my beads using paper pulp(lately i recycle used eggs shells witch I like better then newspaper) and acrylics.I seal them after drying with a yacht lac.I also use sand paper to polish ,sometimes sand them and soon I'll try to add wood chippings for a special look...
the following link (paper university)could be very useful for U too if you are already charmed and don't mind glue your hands to make your own beads,earrings.

Don't be afraid to have fun with the paper.It's cheep and you can find it everywhere.This are my very first paper earrings mostly made from pulp,acrylics and sealer.As a glue I use flour and water mixture.It works very well.

Az idén papir van ebédre...Ma készült el,pár napja fogtam neki,ez megy a leggyorsabban.
A váz egy müanyag tál amire rákenem a csirizes papir pasztát és száradni hagyom kb 2-3 napig.
A festés a legkellemesebb időtöltés,csak éppen ha tudnék....

Pt acest cadou de ziua mamei mele am folosit un bol de plastic ca si baza ,peste care am aplicat pasta de hartie,care dupa ce se usca se va dezlipi de bolul "mama".de pe un vas de sticla nu s-ar mai dezlipi niciodata,doar daca mai intii aplici un strat de hartie fara lipici pe vas sau dai din belsug peste vas cu vazelina.

It's a live!but still not finished...i'm moving on but my steps are like water drops,dropped sometime around midnight when "family" is a sleep.

Szegenykem,meg mindig csupaszon varja a folytatast,hogy mikor lesz az...talan osszel.Az antennait kiszedtem,a durva drot nem ragadt bele sikeresen a pasztaba.Es a laba eltort :((
megprobalt lerepulni az asztalrol,he meg szarnya nincs,de o ezt nem tudta...
Azt hiszem egy kis gipsszel fogok rajta segiteni ;)

Pt corpul acestei pasari neidentificate am mototolit multe ziare si le-am lipit cu banda
de mascare(se gaseste la praktiker si in multe alte locuri).pulpele tot asa realizate,gitul e un
tub gol de hartie (prosop de bucatarie) peste care am lipit o fasie de cearsaf inmuiat in pasta de faina.Ciocul e din carton cu marginile intarite cu sarma si vopsite ulterior.Degetele de la picior sint galme de staniol invelite cu straturi de hartie.Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii inca nu e gata,rusine mie.
